Last night the Pierce boys track team came in the 3rd place at the conference invite. Armani Glass placed 1st in the 100m dash, Daniel Oloyede placed 6th in both the 100m and 200m dash, Devon Davis placed 1st and RJ Donald placed 5th in the hurdles, Brendan Rogers placed 3rd in the 400m dash and 5th in the 200m dash, Daniel Sanchez placed 5th and Austin Pupek placed 6th in the 1600m run. The 4x100m relay team of Edward Akins, Daniel Oloyede, Devon Davis, and Armani Glass placed 1st. Special shout out to the relay team of Zach Dunn, Jeremie Lander, Austin Pupek, and Marquis Louden for breaking the school's 4x800m relay record by 13 seconds, and a shout out to Jeremie Lander for also setting the new Pierce record for the 800m run with a time of 2:17.

Last night the Pierce girls track team won 1st place honors at the conference invite. Angy Aponte placed 1st in both hurdles and high jump. McKenzi Hollamon placed 6th in the high jump. Jordan Yanders placed 3rd in hurdles. Tyrah Newman placed 2nd in both the 100m and 200m dash. Amber Brown placed 4th in both the 100m and 200m dash. Devyn Walters placed 1st and Ryan Abram placed 4th in the 400m dash. The 4x100m relay team of Janiya Tuggle, Amber Brown, Emryson Jenkins, and Tyrah Newman placed 2nd. The 4x400m relay team of Ryan Abram, Destiny Lilly, Emani Peters, and Devyn Walters placed 1st.

Last night the Pierce boys track team narrowly defeated Lowell by a score of 54-51. First place finishers include Edward Akins in high jump, Sean Gardner in shot put, Devon Davis in hurdles, Daniel Sanchez in the 1600m run, and the 4x400m relay team of Joshua Tuggle, Nikko Knight, Marquis Louden, and Brendan Rogers. Their record improves to 6-1.

The Pierce girls track team also defeated Lowell by a score of 67-38. First place finishers include Isys Scott in shot put, Kailey Terpstra in long jump, Angy Aponte in high jump, Jordan Yanders in the hurdles, Tyrah Newman in both the 100m and 200m dash, Devyn Walters in the 400m dash, the 4x100m relay team of Janiya Tuggle, Amber Brown, Emryson Jenkins, and Tyrah Newman, and the 4x400m relay team of Ryan Abram, Destiny Lilly, Emani Peters, and Devyn Walters. Their record improves to 6-1.

Last night the 7th grade girls basketball team defeated Grimmer by a score of 41-17. Leading scorers were Alanna Sabbath, Davina Smith, and Teresa Leavy. Great victory, lady pirates.

On Saturday, the 7th grade girls basketball team won the Michigan City Barker Tournament by defeating Michigan City Barker, 31-7, and Boston Middle School, 36-19. Both wins were attributed to teamwork and stifling defense. Great job, Lady Pirates!

So You Think You Can Cheer? Attention ALL seventh grade girls. If you would like to be a part of the Pierce Middle School Cheerleading Squad, now is your time!! Try-outs are coming soon and you will have a chance to show us what you're made of. You do NOT need any previous cheer experience to try out. All you need is a good attitude! If you tried out last year and did not make the team, PLEASE try out again!!! There will be a mandatory parent information meeting on Monday, March 6th @ 5:30PM in the Pierce Cafeteria. You will NOT be able to try out if your parent or an adult representative does not attend this meeting. Cheerleading tryouts will be held Tuesday, March 7th thru Friday, March 10th in Pierce Middle School cafeteria from 3:30 PM - 5PM. Please where comfortable shorts, a t-shirt, and gym shoes. You must have physical and concussion form on file. See you then!!!

Last night the 7th grade girls basketball team defeated Kankakee Valley by a score of 39-14. Leading scorers were, Alanna Sabbath, Davina Smith, and Samya Miller. Also, last night the B team won by a score of 33-17. Leading scorers were Anyla Strickland, Jalyn Lanier, and Monique Williams, and Knilah Hayes. Stars on defense were the twins, Aniya and Anyla Shields, Good Job ladies!

Last night the 8th grade girls Purple team traveled to Valparaiso and defeated Benjamin Franklin by the score of 30-24. The Lady Pirates were lead in scoring by Torri Millers 20 points. The Pirates were down at halftime but used tenacious defense to hold the Vikings to 6 points in the second half. Great team defense ladies!

Last night the girls 8th grade basketball team defeated a scrappy Clark team 29-19. The Pirates were led offensively by Cailynn Dilosa with 14 points and Torri Miller with 11. Defensively the Pirates were lead by Ariana Bandy, Janiyah Russell, and Iyanna Medina. Great game ladies!

The 7th grade girls basketball team beat Thomas Jefferson last night by a score of 30-16.  Lead scorers were Davina Smith, Ja'Niya Tuggle, and Alanna Sabbath.  Also playing a great game was Kai Dilosa, Jalyn Lanier, Samya Miller, and Azairah Crosby.

The 7th grade girls team also won by a score of 24-11.  Lead scorers were Anyla Strickland, Monique Williams, and Knilah Hayes.  Playing well on defense Anyla Shields, Aniya Shields, Serenity Pospishil, Cash McEwen, and SamMeah Jackson.
