4/22/2017 MHS Parent Teacher Conferences Parents, Parent Teacher Conferences will be held on Thursday, April 27th from 3:30 until 6:30 PM in the main building Cafeteria and Media Center. Students will be dismissed from school on that Thursday at 1:48 PM. Parents should park in the East Parking lot, and enter through Door F. All report cards will be picked up inside door F. Thank you.
04/21/2017 SALK Junior Achievement Good Evening Salk Families! In your child's backpack tonight, you will find information about Junior Achievement.  We are looking for parents to volunteer in their child's classroom to help inspire students and bring the real world experience into the classroom.  No teaching experience is needed!    If you are interested, please look for the tan sheet of paper in your child's backpack where you will find more information as well as who to contact to be a part of this.  Thank you.

Summer School Parents, This is a message from The Merrillville Community School Corporation regarding Summer School for high school credit courses. Students in grades 8 through 12 that plan to enroll in high school summer classes for credit should pick up an enrollment form at either Pierce Middle School or Merrillville High School. The summer school session will meet from Monday, June 12th through Friday, July 21st. Classes will be $30 per course and registration is open from now until Friday, May 19th. Turning in the registration form with payment is the only way to reserve a seat! Please act now to get enrolled as seats will fill up fast! Thank you.

4/17/2017 CPMS ISTEP TESTING Parents, ISTEP Testing Part 2 has begun at Pierce Middle School. All Pierce students need to be in their testing room promptly at 7:35 am to begin testing. Testing takes place every morning at 7:35 am from now until May 2nd. Please make sure your child gets a good nights sleep and eats a good breakfast. Be aware that cell phones or any electronic devices are not allowed in the testing room, so students are encouraged to leave them at home.Thank you.
4/15/2017 IES Parent Information Meeting Parents, The Fieler Elementary School will have a NEW early kindergarten program beginning this Fall. There will be a Parent Information Meeting on April 17 at 5:00 PM in the Fieler cafeteria.  A Parent Information Meeting flyer is being sent home with your student. 4/14/2017 MES ISTEP Parents, This is an important message is to parents of all 3rd and 4th grade students. Part 2  ISTEP testing will start Monday, April 17th and goes through May 5th. It is important that students are at school every day and on time.  Also, please be sure that your child is getting plenty of rest each night. We know that with your support, our students will have the best opportunity for success. Thank you.

Meningitis Vaccine Parents, All current juniors at Merrillville High School should be in the process of obtaining their second meningitis vaccine.  This is an Indiana State requirement  This vaccine is available through North Shore Clinic at Merrillville High School, or you can go to the Lake County Health Department. You can also take your child to your own physician.  These vaccines are due when your child turns 16 years of age. Vaccine records should be submitted to the high school nurse by May 31st. If you have any questions, please contact the school nurse at (219) 756-5747. Thank you.

03/25/2017 MCSC Kindergarten Registration Kindergarten registration for students who will be 5 years old by August 1, 2017 will begin on April 11th and will continue through May 31st between the hours of 9 am to 1 pm at your designated home school. Iddings Elementary School wanted to remind you that spring picture day is Friday, March 24th.  Interstate studio will only photograph students who prepay on line or bring their money to picture day.  This is the only opportunity for your student to participate in spring pictures, there is no retake day.  Please send checks or the exact amount of money. The photographer or the office can not  make change! Once again, Iddings spring picture day is Friday, March 24th, 2017. Thank you.

Seniors! Indiana has extended the financial aid filing deadline to April 15th. If you have not completed your FAFSA, you have been given an opportunity without penalty to file by April 15th this year. Indiana Commissioner for Higher Education, Teresa Lubbers, announced today that the states March 10th financial aid filing deadline would be extended to April 15th this year in response to recent issues with a federal data retrieval tool that complicated the process for families attempting to submit the free application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Once again, if you have not completed the FAFSA, you now have until April 15, 2017 to get this task done for the upcoming 2017-2018 school year. Thank you.
