New COVID-19 Close Contact Quarantine Guidelines

Last Updated: 9/3/2021 2:44 PM

Dear MCSC Families and Staff,

Governor Holcomb issued executive order 21-24 changing requirements for COVID-19 Close Contact quarantines in schools.  This order went into effect September 2, 2021.

The requirements now state that in a classroom where everyone is wearing a mask, contact tracing must be conducted, but quarantines will not be required as long as a close contact does not develop symptoms.

Beginning immediately:

  • We will continue to wear masks as we have done since the first day of school.
  • We will continue to contact trace for anyone within three feet of a positive case.
  • Close contacts will receive a call from the school to monitor their symptoms for 14 days.
  • Close contacts must quarantine ONLY if they have or develop symptoms of COVID-19.

If you have a student that is currently in quarantine as a close contact, please contact your school office to see if your student qualifies to return to school early.

Thank you for partnering with us to assure the safety of our students, families and staff.
