Please join the MHS Athletic Department in congratulating Boys' Head Soccer Coach Brian Past!  

Coach Past was inducted into the Indiana Soccer Coaches Association Hall of Fame, where he joins many of our state's top soccer individuals.  

We are sincerely honored to have Coach Past as our boys' soccer coach.  He has truly mentored thousands of young men during his 29 year coaching career, 26 years of which have been coaching Pirate soccer players. 

Coach Past's number one attribute is building relationships with his players that last a lifetime. He is truly a "kids" coach.  

MHS Athletic Directors Amy Beckham and Janis Qualizza attended the banquet in Indianapolis to watch Coach Past receive his award and give a speech to over 400 boys' soccer coaches, players and families in attendance.  

Merrillville past players and coaches in attendance were Jeff Fairbairn and Brad Daniel.  

Also receiving awards were two of MHS soccer players, Aleksandar Djukic and David Maldonado.  

Congratulations, Coach Past, on your induction.  You certainly deserve the recognition and honor.  You have made Merrillville PROUD!
