5th and 6th grade students learned that financial aid is available to help people who want to go to college but might not have the means to. Students learned about scholarships, grants and loans; with emphasis put on information about scholarships.

Both 5th and 6th grade students got the chance to look at the various scholarships that are available and see that not all scholarships are about writing essays or having good grades. Did you know that there is a $2000 scholarship given to students with the best duck call? Strange but true!

In regards to potential scholarship opportunities, 6th graders learned that next year they will be able to sign up for the 21st Century Scholars program which gives students who qualify a free ride to any college, trade school, or university in the state of Indiana.

Other lessons included: 5th grade students also learned that by making good choices in school they are helping to set themselves up with potential scholarships in the future. 6th grade students took a time warp 15 years into the future; students had the chance to see if their dream life style can be supported by the amount of education or training that they're hoping to pursue.
